Modern Rugs
Persian and Oriental Area Rugs
In older times, weavers were strictly producing rugs in their homes using whatever material and design available to them. Producers in villages spent part of their time working in farms. In the past few decades, however, technology brought change to society along with a differing attitude toward the rug industry. Art became a movement into a world of color and expression. Workshops which employ many weavers have been formed, and rugs began to be made according to orders, with specific colors and patterns. Although they have generally a coarser weave, many modern rugs are still of a superb quality. Patterns tend to be simpler, and often open field. Fewer colors are used, making these rugs somewhat easier to match with the environments of today's homes. Our imported, authentic, and high quality area rugs, whether traditional, classic, or modern, are sure to add warmth and beauty to your home for many years to come.
